Scientific Research Achievements of the laboratory

1. Research on CZTSSe solar cells

The solution spin coating method has several advantages such as simple equipment, easy operation, easy to control element stoichiometric ratio and large area preparation of thin films, which is a cost-effective method for the preparation of semiconductor thin films. CZTSSE absorption layer films prepared in this institute are based on low toxic solvents DMSO and DMF, and the team was one of the first research groups in China to achieve stable conversion efficiency more than 10%.The institute has undertaken the projects of the Regional Science Foundation of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the key projects of the Natural Science Foundation of Jiangxi Province, the long-term projects of the first batch of innovative talents introduced in Jiangxi Province, the construction project of the Optoelectronic functional Materials Laboratory of the rare Gold New Materials Research Institute, and the Ganzhou Science and Technology Innovation Talent Program project. 7 related academic papers have been published and 2 Chinese invention patents have been applied.

2. Research on inorganic perovskite solar cells.

Mixed halogen inorganic perovskite thin films have suitable band gap and good phase stability at room temperature, making them ideal light-harvesting materials for highly efficient and stable perovskite solar cells. However, inorganic perovskite films prepared by traditional solution method still have some disadvantages, such as low coverage, low thickness, small grains and low phase purity, which limit the further improvements of device performance and stability. To address the issues of the solution method in the preparation of efficient and stable photovoltaic devices, one-step and multi-step solution methods based on anti-solvent engineering and additive engineering have been developed, which can realize high efficiency and controllable preparation of high quality inorganic perovskite thin films. Besides, all-inorganic perovskite solar cells with high conversion efficiency and long-term stability are assembled. We have undertaken the several projects, such as Jiangxi Province's first batch of innovative talents long-term project, and the construction project of optoelectronic functional materials laboratory of research institute of new rare metal based materials. We have published 3 related academic papers in Nano Energy, Solar RRL and other journals, and applied for one Chinese invention patent.

3. New optoelectronic functional materials and devices.

New copper-based thin film solar cells, rare earth photoelectric functional materials and devices, quantum dot light-emitting materials and devices, and photoelectrochemical conversion of low-dimensional semiconductor structures are also important research directions of this research. In this study, a new type of solar cell was prepared by using low-cost copper-based semiconductor materials, a new photocatalytic material was obtained through synthesis design and heterostructure construction, and a new type of quantum dot light-emitting materials and devices were designed and prepared. We have published more than ten SCI papers in important international journals such as Nanoscale and J. Mater. Chem., applied for several Chinese invention patents and applied for several invention patents in China.
